Joran de Jong

Jong received his master’s degree in applied physics at the TU Delft, with a specialisation in nuclear science and technology. After a research internship at the Institute for Nuclear Energy Technology in Beijing he started as an external consultant at NRG in Petten, working on several projects as project and license engineer. Consequently, he joined the ANVS as a specialist in reactor physics and safety assessment. He operated for several years as deputy and later acting site inspector for RID, COVRA and URENCO before switching to the licensing department, where he is now responsible for the preparation of the licensing of the new powerplants and several SMR market initiatives.
