supports the resolution of technical and regulatory issues related to materials degradation and ageing management of nuclear power plant components. Previously, he served a similar role with a focus on spent fuel dry storage systems. He also participates in international efforts to develop guidance for long term operations, including the IAEA International Generic Ageing Lessons Learned Programme. Prior to joining the NRC in 2010, he was a research assistant professor at Colorado School of Mines, research engineer at Bethlehem Steel Corporation, and failure analysis consultant at Exponent, Inc. He received his bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering and his doctorate in materials science and engineering.
